355hp Package

355hp Package this package features a 2000-2004 326ci 5300 GM truck engine using all stock components aside from a valve spring change. It is rated at 385 ft lbs of torque, 355hp on pump gasoline, 6800rpm rev limit, and 246 degree water shut down, 19psi low oil pressure shut down.

The package is recommended for hobby or street classes using stock GM 2bbl carburetor, cast or spec aluminum 2bbl intake and stock GM heads up to 9:1 compression ratio cold test 360 maximum cubic inches.

Tech Procedures:

    1) Computer Rotation:

It is recommended that each track and/or series should purchase from Schwanke Engines one computer to be used for random rotation among competitors. The atmosphere of a competitor knowing he or she may not always take the same computer home they came with is the most important tech procedure. This will help eliminate any need for internal inspection.

    2) Seal Inspection;

There are four seals on the engine:

One on each center of the valve cover

One on the timing cover right side below water pump

One on the right front corner of the intake manifold

The seal numbers are sequential. Five seals are produced for each engine one is held back for teching and/or field service available by paper trail, tech and the race director signatures. You then need to call Schwanke Engines for the seal. (Example number 530001 = 53 represents 5300 truck engine and 0001 is serial number).

    3) Vacuum test:

The 355hp package can be teched by a simple vacuum gauge test. There are two ports located on either side of the intake manifold to hook up a vacuum gauge. The vacuum must read 19-20 inches at idle no load. This will prove that no camshaft change has been done.

    4) Scanner Test:

The system also features a 16 pin OBD II ALDL connector a Tech II or Snap on Tools scanner can be used to access data stream. Call Schwanke Engines for VIN information.
